INDIANAPOLIS — A person was shot Wednesday afternoon near Butler University's campus, according to police.
The shooting was reported around 3:30 p.m. in the 600 block of Berkley Place. Officers found a person who appeared to be suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer William Young said. They are stable and were taken to a local hospital.
The identity of the person who appeared to have been shot was not released, but is not affiliated with the university, Katie Grieze, News Content Manager at Butler University, said in an email.
Butler's campus is secure and the suspects were last seen going south away from campus, according to the Butler University Police Department.
