CONNERSVILLE — A man admitted this week to killing a missing 18-year-old woman in 1986, police say, bringing an end to a 34-year-old case.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Shawn M. McClung admitted to killing Denise Pflum, who went missing in March 1986.
McClung has been charged with voluntary manslaughter (in sudden heat without deadly weapon).
Nearly two years ago, human remains were found at Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary while police were investigating Pflum’s disappearance.
Police have not released any additional information about the case.
