INDIANAPOLIS -- A man stole a woman's vehicle, forced her into the backseat, shot her, then drove around before she was able to escape in November 2017, police say.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is trying to find John Moreno, the man who's been charged with the aforementioned crimes.
Police believe Moreno confronted a woman in her driveway on Nov. 16. He forced her into the backseat of her vehicle, then shot her before driving it, with her still in the backseat.
IMPD says he drove around until she jumped out near West Bertha and South Roena streets, on Indianapolis' west side. Witnesses said Moreno got out of the victim's car and got into a red car, fleeing the scene.
A warrant has been issued for Moreno's arrest on charges of robbery with injury, kidnapping, and aggravated battery.
Moreno is a Hispanic male 5-foot, 5-inches tall, 125 pounds, black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous.
