Police: One injured in Friday night shooting in Richmond

RICHMOND — A person was injured after a shooting Friday night in Richmond, according to police.

The 21-year-old was shot in arm and leg around 9:45 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Commerce Road, Richmond Police Department Capt. Curt Leverton said in a press release. They were taken to Reid Health and is stable.

Detectives arrested an 18-year-old and preliminary charged them with attempted murder, Leverton said. Formal charges have not been filed, according to online court records.

Details on what may have led to the shooting have not been released.

Personnel from the Richmond Fire Department, Wayne County Sheriff's Office, and Indiana State Police assisted police with the incident.
