FLORA — The investigation into a deadly fire in Flora that killed four sisters remains unsolved.

The Indiana State Police superintendent spoke publicly about the case for the first time in months on Wednesday.

All the focus is on finding who killed the four girls in that November 2016 house fire.

The state police superintendent, Doug Carter, made it clear that the fire was intentionally set and he believes someone who knew the family committed it.

Carter also pointed out that detectives have traveled to multiple states including Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio, and California, as part of the investigation.

On Wednesday, the superintendent responded to criticism from the family that not enough is being done to find the killer.

"What I am going to do is speculate. If there is substantial information, or information of substance, that comes to this case for this community, I assure you we will come out. We are not hiding anything; any inference that we are is simply inappropriate and wrong."

Carter added that detectives still need to talk to anyone who visited the home before the fatal fire.
