Police search for man who robbed Burger King in Greenwood

GREENWOOD — Police in Greenwood are looking for a man accused of robbing a Burger King restaurant at gunpoint late Sunday.

According to a report from Greenwood police, it happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the Burger King, 5979 N. State Road 135.

Witnesses told police a white man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans with facial hair entered the restaurant. Police said the man allegedly pulled out a handgun and demanded money. The restaurant managetr opened the drawer to one of the registers and the suspect took the entire cash drawer, which contained an undetermined amount of cash.

Police said the suspect fled the scene in a dark blue Chevrolet Impala with what appeared to be a temporary license plate in the lower left corner of the rear window.

The suspect was last seen traveling north on State Road 135.
