INDIANAPOLIS -- A woman was arrested Thursday morning after she hit two people with her vehicle, leading to shots being fired on Indianapolis' west side.
The incident happened at about 6 a.m., near the intersection of 30th Street and Winton Avenue.
After hitting the first two people, police say the woman tried to hit a third, for an unknown reason. That person fell, then pulled out a gun and started firing.
The shots hit the vehicle, but the woman wasn't hurt. The first two people hit by the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
The driver took off on foot. She was detained at the scene, then later arrested on preliminary charges of criminal recklessness with a vehicle and driving while intoxicated.
