FILLMORE — Police in Putnam County arrested a machete-wielding man after another person suffered serious injuries in a fight Friday morning.
The incident began before 7:45 a.m. as an altercation between two people that ended when one attacked the other with a machete, according to the Putnam County Sheriff's Department.
Medics transported the victim to the hospital with serious injuries.
Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Greencastle Police Department officers arrested the suspect, according to the sheriff's department. He was preliminarily charged with aggravated battery and criminal recklessness. Formal charges haven't been filed, according to court documents.
