CARMEL — An investigation is underway in Carmel after two people were shot early Sunday morning.
Carmel Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 7 a.m. to the 300 block of East 106th Street on the report of a shooting, the department said in a tweet.
A 36-year-old man was shot in the chest treated for their injuries at a nearby hospital, according to a press release from police. A 38-year-old woman, who was shot in the leg, was later located and taken to a nearby hospital. They were both treated and released from the hospital.
A 45-year-old man, of Indianapolis, was arrested on the suspicion of two counts of attempted murder, domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon, battery by means of a deadly weapon, carrying a handgun without a license, burglary committed while armed with a deadly weapon and burglary to a dwelling and results in serious injury, according to the release.
Police do not believe there is any ongoing danger to the community.
