BEECH GROVE, Ind. -- One man was arrested early Wednesday morning after shots were fired during a police chase in Beech Grove, Indiana.

The incident began when a Beech Grove officer was patrolling the west side of the city around 1 a.m. The officer tried to pull over a truck for improper plates, but the driver didn't stop.

Instead, he fled in the area of Keystone Avenue.

As police were chasing him, shots were fired from out of the suspect's vehicle. Police aren't sure whether they were fired at them or into the ground.

The chase lasted for about five minutes and ended when an officer performed a PIT maneuver on the vehicle near Keystone Avenue and I-65, where the man was arrested. Police do not believe the man was intoxicated, but do say he was known to have a weapon.

No officers were injured. The suspect has not been identified.
