State police investigate after skeletal remains found in Orange County

ORLEANS, Ind. — Troopers from the Indiana State Police are investigating after skeletal remains were found in the 100 block of West Quarry Road just north of Orleans in Orange County.

According to state police, the discovery was made Sunday by a man who was walking in the area and came upon what he thought to be skeletal remains.

Indiana State Police Crime Scene Investigators were notified and collected the remains. The state police and the Orange County Sheriff's Office are investigating the discovery.

The identity of the remains has not been determined at this time.

The Orleans Police Department and the Orange County Coroner assisted as the scene.

The discovery remains under investigation.
