INDIANAPOLIS — A student who allegedly brought a gun onto a school bus in Lawrence Township was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon.
According to the Lawrence Police Department, students on the bus outside Indian Creek Elementary School alerted school officials who then contacted law enforcement. The student was taken to the Marion County Juvenile Center.
MSD Lawrence Township told parents in an email that the gun never made it into the school.
“We always say, ‘If you see something, say something’ and that seemed to work,” Lawrence Police deputy chief Gary Woodruff said.
