LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Lawrence police arrested a man Thursday who allegedly fired at least one shot as he was fleeing from officers following a short vehicle pursuit.
Jerrell Moten, 25, of Indianapolis, is facing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon, and resisting law enforcement.
The incident happened on April 20 near the intersection of 42nd Street and Post Road at about 10:15 a.m.
An officer was conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle when it pulled into the Maison Gardens Apartments. Three suspects got out of the vehicle, with one firing at the officer, said Gary Woodruff, the spokesperson for the Lawrence Police Department.
Nobody was injured and all officers are OK.
No other arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
