CARMEL — A Carmel man went to help a man who said he needed help with his car when he was robbed by a man with a gun, according to police.
The man got home around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 3700 block of Gould Drive when the suspect, described as a 19 to 20-year-old Black man, asked him for help fixing his car, according to a press release from the Carmel Police Department. When the man went to get some items to help him, he heard what he believed to be a gunshot and saw the suspect holding a handgun.
The suspect then demanded the victim's valuables and drove away after the man complied, according to the release. The suspect was wearing a dark sweatshirt and winter cap, a mask, and jeans and was driving a small SUV or crossover type of vehicle.
Officers found a fired shell casing at the scene, according to the release.
