MADISON COUNTY — A suspected drunk driver from Noblesville was arrested Friday morning after a trooper clocked him going 107 miles per hour as he was heading into a construction zone.

The Indiana State Police trooper was sitting along I-69 when he clocked an approaching vehicle going 107 miles per hour in a 70 miles per hour zone just before entering into the construction zone at the 219 mile marker.

The trooper conducted a traffic stop and the 37-year-old driver, who told him that he had missed his exit at Noblesville and had continued driving north. Further investigation revealed that the driver had a blood alcohol content level of more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent BAC, according to state police. The driver was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated and reckless driving.

"Motorists are encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911," ISP says. "Give a vehicle description, location and direction of travel. Never follow an impaired driver."
