Suspects who allegedly stole Riley Hospital for Children donation box arrested after pursuit, crash

INDIANAPOLIS — Two suspects who allegedly stole a Riley Hospital for Children donation box from a gas station on Monday were arrested Saturday after a pursuit.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers began the pursuit around 3:30 p.m. A short time later, the pursuit ended in a crash near West Washington Street and South Taft Avenue

The two suspects arrested after the pursuit, are the same suspects who allegedly stole the donation box early Monday morning, Officer Michael Hewitt said.

Two officers were also injured in the crash. One officer suffered a minor injury to their hand, another suffered an injury to their knee, Hewitt said.
