INDIANAPOLIS — Three people are in serious condition after a triple shooting early Sunday morning on the east side of Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 2:15 a.m. to the 900 block of Cecil Avenue on the report of shots fired, IMPD Sgt. Grace Sibley said in an email. When they arrived, they located two people who had been shot.
A short time later, officers found another person who had been shot near the intersection of East 30th Street and North Keystone Avenue, Sibley said.
Detectives believe all three people were shot in the 900 block of Cecil Avenue, Sibley said.
The incident is believed to be isolated and police don't believe there is an ongoing threat to the public, Sibley said.
The identities of the victims or any possible suspects have not been released.
A possible motive or additional details surrounding the incident are still being investigated by detectives and have not been released at this time.
