INDIANAPOLIS — Three people were shot during an altercation at a gas station on Indianapolis' east side on Friday afternoon.
According to Officer Genae Cook, a spokeswoman for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers on patrol heard shots fired around 1:15 p.m. Friday and found a person shot at a Marathon station at the corner of North Rural and 10th streets.
Cook said while officers were on scene, IMPD received calls for two other shooting victims. Officers determined all three individuals were shot during an altercation at the Marathon station.
"As detectives are still continuing to put all the pieces of this puzzle together and gather all the information they are learning there was a disturbance here among these three persons," Cook said. "One of them was shot and remained on the scene while the other two fled the scene. Each person has been transported to a local hospital. They are all considered in stable condition at this time."
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
