BLOOMINGTON — A Monroe County man and woman have been arrested in connection with a child molestation investigation involving two juveniles.
According to a report from the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, detectives observed two forensic interviews that took place Tuesday at Susie's Place Child Advocacy Center in Bloomington. Investigators observed separate interviews with an 11-year-old and a 14-year-old with both juveniles saying a 40-year-old man had performed various inappropriate acts on them that were sexual in nature.
Deputies said the 40-year-old man admitted that inappropriate sexual acts had taken place with both juveniles. The man was arrested and is being held in the Monroe County Jail on suspicion of child molestation.
A 37-year-old woman was interviewed by detectives and she reportedly told deputies the allegations were brought to her by the juveniles but she did not restrict the man's access to the juveniles or report it to authorities. The woman was arrested and is being held in the Monroe County Jail on suspicion of neglect of a dependent.
Formal charges have not been filed.
