TIPPECANOE COUNTY — At lease two people have been arrested after protests Sunday night in Tippecanoe County, authorities said.
A 22-year-old, of Lafayette, was arrested and preliminary charged with two counts of burglary and two counts of theft, according to a press release from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office.
They were arrested after investigators said she burglarized and stole from a Verizon Wireless store on Promenade Parkway and a liquor store on South Creasy Lane in Lafayette.
A 34-year-old, of Lafayette, was also arrested and preliminary charged with rioting while armed with a deadly weapon and arson, according to the press release. Additional information has not been released regarding their arrest.
Formal charges have not been filed against either person, according to online court records.
Additional charges could be filed as the Tippecanoe County Task Force continues to investigate both incidents according to the release.
The Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Office, High Tech Crime Unit, Tippecanoe County Prosecutor's Office and Lafayette, West Lafayette, and Purdue University police departments are apart of the task force.
