Two early morning shootings in Indianapolis under investigation

INDIANAPOLIS — Detectives in Indianapolis are investigating after two people were injured in two separate shootings early Sunday morning.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called around 1:15 a.m. to the 500 block of North Gladstone Avenue, near East Michigan Street and North Sherman Drive, on the report of a person shot, IMPD Officer Michael Hewitt said in an email.

Officers located a person who was awake and breathing and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Hewitt said. Their identity has not been released.

Around 2:30 a.m., IMPD officers were called to investigate the report of a person shot near West 16th Street and North Tibbs Avenue, Hewitt said.

Officers later located a person in stable condition and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, Hewitt said. Their identity has not been released.

No arrests have been made in connection to the shootings, according to IMPD police reports.
