GRANT COUNTY, Ind. -- Two juveniles have been charged in connection with the January murder of an 81-year-old man in Grant County.
The Grant County Sheriff's Office says the juveniles, along with Corbin Page, 17, drove to the home of Gene Thompson for what authorities believe was an attempted robbery.
Investigators say Larry Pavey, 51, opened the door and was shot several times by Page.
Page continued to shoot as Pavey ran through the house.
Thompson, who was lying in a hospital bed in the living room, was shot in the chest.
Pavey recovered from his injuries but Thompson died while on the way to the hospital.
In May, the Grant County Sherriff's Office was notified by the Indiana State Police Lab that the gunPage used to kill Alainee Beyer and them himself on Feb. 4 at her home in Marion was the firearm that was used in the shooting at Thompson's house.
Investigators say the two juveniles confirmed they were at the scene of the shooting. They were charged on May 30 with false informing.
The sheriff's office says they were able to clear several other cases and made at least ten other arrests while investigating Thompson's murder.
