INDIANAPOLIS -- A vigil was held Friday evening for the 13-year-old killed early Friday morning in a shooting on Indianapolis' east side.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 2200 block of Barnor Drive on a report of a shooting, a police spokesperson said.
When they arrived, police found a 13-year-old boy laying in the street. He was taken to a hospital, where he died.
Family members identified the boy as Harry Taliefer.
James Wilson is the teen's cousin and an anti-violence activist. He shared this message with the community:
"Now we have to hold his memory. Don't let his memory go to waste by any means. Don't let other people dying a young age's memories go to waste by any means and more importantly don't even let it happen."
Family members believe the incident started a few days ago, and somebody brought a gun Thursday night and shot him.

So far no arrests have been made in the teen's death. Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
