WHITELAND — Shots were fired at a good Samaritan who followed suspects after a struggle during an online sale exchange in Whiteland, according to police.
Whiteland Police Department officers were called to investigate shots fired just before 7 p.m. in the 700 block of Hummingbird Lane, according to a press release from the department.
A juvenile attempted to purchase an item through an online sale and there was a brief struggle during the exchange, according to the release. The suspects tried to leave in a vehicle, but they hit several objects and their vehicle was disabled.
A good Samaritan followed the suspects as they tried to run away, according to the release. The suspects then fired shots at him.
No injuries were reported.
The identities of those involved in the incident have not been released.
Around 10 p.m., police asked people to remain vigilant and report suspicious activity.
At this time there is no immediate threat to residents. We ask that everyone remain vigilant and keep reporting suspicious activity in the area. Information is limited due to victims age and with it being an on-going investigation.
