RICHMOND — A New York woman was arrested and charged in connection to the shooting death of a man, also of New York, in Richmond.
Josephine Scott, 50, of Canaseraga, New York, was arrested in connection to the shooting death of Roy Redford, 58, also of Canaseraga, Richmond Police Department Capt. Curt Leverton said in a press release.
Scott was arrested Friday night in Belmont, New York, and charged with murder, Leverton said. A warrant for her arrest was issued, according to online court documents. Belmont, New York is about 25 miles southwest of Canaseraga, New York.
Police found Redford shot and killed on Monday while conducting a welfare check in the 400 block of Commerce Road.

Richmond police detectives traveled to New York to serve several search warrants and were assisted by the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigations - Troop A, Leverton said.
