INDIANAPOLIS — A woman is dead after an apparent stabbing early Sunday morning on the northeast side of Indianapolis.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers and emergency personnel were called around 2 a.m. to the 2900 block of North Sherman Drive on the report of a person who was stabbed, IMPD Officer Genae Cook said in a press release. When they arrived, they found a woman who appeared to be stabbed.
The woman later died, Cook said.

At this time, the woman's identity has not been released.
Police have not released any information regarding what led to the shooting or the identities of any possible suspects.
