Deadly crash on Indianapolis' southeast side under investigation

INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were killed in a crash Saturday evening on the southeast side of Indianapolis, according to police.

The crash happened around 8:20 p.m. near Interstate 74 and Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer William Young said in an email.

Debra Crawford, 76, and her husband, John Crawford, 74, were killed in the crash, Marion County Chief Deputy Coroner Alfie McGinty said in an email.

IMPD traffic investigators are on the scene, Young said.
