INDIANAPOLIS -- The family of an Indianapolis woman who went missing four years ago hopes to bring new attention to her disappearance on what would have been her 28th birthday.

Jessica Masker vanished in April 2013.  She was last seen on Washington Street near Emerson Drive, and her brother was the last person who talked to her on the phone.

“She wanted a ride home and said that things weren’t right,” said her sister, Christina. “We never heard from her again. It’s just like she vanished.”

Christina is planning to light and release lanterns on Saturday to celebrate Jessica’s birthday. The family hopes the event will bring renewed interest in the case.

Christina said Jessica was a new mother who was trying to kick a drug habit and what her family described as an abusive relationship with a man.

At the time Masker went missing, police did not suspect foul play, but her family believes if she were still alive, they would have heard from her by now.

Although it’s been four years, Christina said she was very close with her sister and thinks about her daily.

“You wonder what she looks like,” said Christina. “You wonder if she’s out there and if something happened to her.”

Anyone with information about Masker’s disappearance is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online at crimetips.org or by texting "INDYCS" plus tip information to 274627.
