FAYETTE COUNTY, Ind. -- While working on an investigation into the disappearance of Denise Pflum in 1986, investigators in Fayette County a cadaver K-9  positively indicated to the possibility of human remains.

Sheriff Joey Laughlin says cadaver dogs from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security indicated to the possible human remains at the Fourth Pond at Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary.

Laughlin said it is still too early in the investigation to say if the possible human remains are of Pflum.

Plfum was last seen leaving her house in March 1986 in Fayette County. She was 18 at the time of her disappearance.

The rain is making it harder for the investigators to get their machines and equipment back in the area.

Due to the active investigation, the area will be closed until they complete their investigation. The area will be under supervision 24 hours.
