Firefighter taken to hospital after abandoned building fire in Plainfield

PLAINFIELD — One firefighter was taken to the hospital for evaluation after a building fire Saturday afternoon in Plainfield.

Plainfield Fire Territory firefighters and emergency personnel were called to the fire around 1 p.m. to the old Stanley Fertilizer Complex, near North Vine and West Depot streets, according to a Facebook post from PFT.

One firefighter was injured taken to an area hospital for evaluation, according to the post.

The cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation.
