MOORESVILLE — A former Mooresville Police Department officer faces eight felony perjury charges for not following protocol when making arrests and completing police arrest reports in the Morgan County town.

Indiana State Police investigators looked at eight specific instances involving 38-year-old Mark Bailey between 2018 and this year.

According to information from ISP and a special prosecutor assigned to the case, there were discrepancies in the probable cause affidavits Bailey completed in cases involving drugs and alcohol.
In some instances, Bailey failed to properly read Miranda rights to people he was arresting.

The Morgan County Prosecutor has to dismiss charges in these cases, plus dozens more in which Bailey was the arresting officer.

Bailey is scheduled to make an initial appearance in Morgan County Superior Court next week.
