INDIANAPOLIS — Countless Hoosiers have sought out organizations they can join to help clean-up downtown Indianapolis damage left behind after protests took a violent turn this past weekend.
The Indianapolis Department of Public Works has asked that those seeking to volunteer their time to partner with the organization "Keep Indianapolis Beautiful."
"While Indy DPW is appreciative of offers to help downtown, leadership encourages volunteers to improve public spaces in their neighborhoods with KIB," DPW's statement reads.
DPW crews were out the last four days to lead clean-up efforts on state properties that may have been vandalized.
Another organization to partner with is Downtown Indy Inc. The organization that represents the downtown merchants says it’s creating a website to organize other volunteering opportunities. It is also collecting funds for repairs not covered by insurance.
