HAMILTON CO. — If you live in Hamilton County, your local income tax will go up next year.
The Noblesville Common Council approved the tax increase on Tuesday night, crossing the threshold needed for it to pass across the county.
The increase will bump the local income tax from one percent to 1.1 percent.
The increase is expected to generate about $16 million per year to help fund the county's 911 center.
If you make $75,000 a year, the increase will mean you would pay an additional $75.
The increase takes effect on January 1.
