FISHERS, Ind. -- Three juveniles and two 18-year-olds were arrested over the weekend after police found them in possession of items connected to multiple thefts in at least three different cities.

Fishers police say an officer was patrolling on Tarragon Court around 5 a.m. Saturday when he noticed a group of suspicious people dressed in black. When the individuals saw the officer, they ran.

After a brief chase, an officer observed a dark SUV leaving the same neighborhood and pulled the driver over. As the officer approached the vehicle, he noticed four passengers lying on the floor attempting to hide, according to the police department.

After ordering all five of the occupants out of the vehicle, officers searched the SUV and found several personal items belonging to people living in Fishers, Edgewood and Anderson.

After connecting the items to thefts from vehicles in those communities, police took all five occupants into custody.

Are Tez Johnson, 18, is charged with possession of cocaine, theft and unauthorized entry into a vehicle, Aquille Miles, 18, is charged with carrying a handgun without a permit, theft and unauthorized entry into a vehicle. Three 17-year-olds are also facing theft and other charges.
