CARMEL — Metronet is back at work after taking time off due to the cold temperatures.
A Metronet spokesman says they've done the work to get utilities marked before they dig, but they couldn't confirm one key detail - if they told the folks in the Harrowgate neighborhood they would be back to dig.
Carmel previously put a stop to Metronet's work after contractors working for the company ruptured several gas lines in Fishers and Carmel.
Although, after developing a safety plan last year, Metronet was cleared by the city to resume work.
The company spokesman says they notified folks living in the neighborhood in 2017 about planned digs in the area. For the work that has just started this week, the spokesman says they should've updated them again.
The company says there's a few things you should be able to spot in order to confirm if contractors are working for Metronet:
- Workers should have credentials around their neck.
- Vehicles should be marked with Metronet logos.
