CARMEL — Some Valentine's Day joy was spread through the halls of IU Health North Hospital in Carmel.
The hospital's eight therapy dogs, dressed in holiday attire, visited with child and adult patients.
Therapy dogs have been at IU North since the hospital opened in 2005 and their benefits to patients are many.
Besides their unconditional love, the hospital says the dogs help reduce stress and anxiety, lower blood pressure and increase endorphins.
All of the animals are certified through a therapy dog certification program.
