HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. -- A diving coach at Fishers High School has resigned after he was charged with driving while intoxicated following a Super Bowl party Sunday night.
According to Hamilton Southeastern Schools, James Davidson was an assistant coach for the Fishers High School diving team.
Davidson was arrested after police say he was asleep behind the wheel of his vehicle at a green light in the area of 126th Street and Cumberland Road Sunday evening. Police say he had a strong odor of alcohol and "various physical signs of intoxication." He also failed numerous Field Sobriety Tests.
Davidson was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
Hamilton Southeastern Schools released a statement Tuesday saying that Davidson resigned his position and it was accepted "effective immediately."

"We are aware of the OWI charge against one of our assistant dive coaches. After reviewing the matter, we have accepted his resignation effective immediately. HSE Schools has high standards for the conduct of employees and is addressing this matter with the utmost seriousness."
