FISHERS, Ind. -- A Fishers city park is now the largest urban farm in the nation.

The park is run by Brandywine Creek Farms, a nonprofit organization that is working to eliminate hunger by providing locally raised produce to central Indiana food pantries.

Located at 113th Street and Florida Avenue in Fishers, Jonathan Lawler says their urban farm has a mission.

"The American farmer is the solution to hunger," said Lawler.

One-third of all food grown at Fishers Agri-Park farm will go to the Good Samaritan Network to be distributed to 46 different food pantries across Hamilton County.

Lawler says the first of the produce from their farm will be available in the next few weeks. They also plan to distribute produce to neighboring counties in need.
