Free sandbags available in Hamilton County

Posted

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. – With more rain on the way to Hamilton County, emergency management is handing out free sandbags.

The sandbags are available to those who want to protect their property from flood waters. There is no limit on how many you can take.

“If sandbags can be put down before the event that a lot of times will help keep water out,” Shane Booker, executive director of Hamilton County Emergency Management said.

A flash flood watch has been issued for the area through the weekend, so the agency wants to allow for people to prepare.

Sandbags can be picked up starting at 8 a.m. Friday at 1717 Pleasant Street in Noblesville.
