Hamilton Southeastern Schools responds after alleged blackface photos of student appear online

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. -- Hamilton Southeastern Schools issued a statement condemning racially offensive language and behavior after photos of a high school student purportedly wearing blackface surfaced on social media.

Posts on social media appear to show a teenager wearing blackface after a dispute with another classmate.

The full statement from Hamilton Southeastern Schools posted to their Facebook page is below: 

"We are aware of the recent social media activities involving students. At this time, we do not know all of the facts of this incident, but we take all reports of harassment and discrimination very seriously. We do not condone such behavior by any member of our school community. The use of racially-offensive language or behavior in our schools by anyone does not reflect our values as a district and will not be tolerated."

The alleged student in the pictures has not been identified by the district.
