NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- There is now some good news to report after a bad situation.

Nineteen dogs and cats that were rescued from a hoarding situation by the Humane Society for Hamilton County were found in deplorable conditions late last month.

But after some love and care, several of those animals have been able to find new homes.

The Humane Society for Hamilton County says seven of the dogs rescued from that hoarding situation have already been placed in their new homes.

The agency says there are also three puppies that will be available for adoption by the end of next week and five cats from the hoarding case that still need loving homes.

The rest of the 19 animals will be available in the coming months.

This Saturday, October 6, you can take part in the Woofstock & Survivor Charity Walk.

The walk helps to raise awareness and money for the Survivor Program, which provides emergency and life-saving care to the animals in the Humane Society for Hamilton County - like the 19 pets who were rescued from the hoarding situation.

It's happening at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater in Fishers starting at 11:30 a.m.
