Roadmaster guitarist Rick Benick dies at 66

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Funeral services for local musician Rick Benick will be held Monday evening at Grace Church in Noblesville.

Benick died at his home in Noblesville on June 14 at age 66.

Benick gained notoriety as a member of the Indianapolis-based rock band Roadmaster in the '70s and '80s. The band recorded several albums and toured for more than a decade. The band broke up in the early 80s.

Former Channel 6 reporter Tracey Horth covered the band's "End of an Era" show held at the Patio on June 24, 1983.

Visitation for Benick begins at 4 p.m., and funeral services will follow at 5:30 p.m.
