HAMILTON COUNTY — Two people were killed in a crash Friday night in Hamilton County after authorities say the car crashed into a tree.
Emergency responders were called around 11 p.m. to the 26600 block of U.S. 31, in northern Hamilton County, on the report of car that crashed into a tree, Hamilton County Sheriff Deputy said in a press release. Callers told emergency dispatchers one person was thrown from the car and one person was trapped in the car.
The driver of the vehicle, Coltin Heath-Brumfiel, 23, of Kokomo, and the passenger, Meghann Clement, 25, of Kokomo, were both killed in the crash.
Witnesses told deputies the car changed lanes and fishtailed before crashing into the tree, Orem said. Investigators said it is believed they were both wearing seat belts.
The crash remains under investigation and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them at 317-773-1282.
