WESTFIELD, Ind. -- Members of the Westfield Police Department will be wearing pink badges to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The officers who are participating in the awareness program have purchased the pink badges with their own money, according to a release from the department.
"The pink badge campaign is just one more way we can get involved with our community on an issue that affects so many of our citizens," Sgt. Billy Adams said. "The badges are sure to spark conversation between officers and residents, which is one of the main goals. We are proud to help spread awareness and show our support to those affected by such a terrible disease."
The department is also accepting donations for the City of Westfield's Relay for Life team. Checks can be made out to the American Cancer Society and dropped off or mailed to the Westfield Police Department, ATTN: Sgt. Billy Adams.
