WESTFIELD — A healthcare hero got a big surprise Friday from Tom Roush Mazda in Westfield after a friend nominated her for her compassionate care with COVID-19 patients.
Rachel Elliott, a transplant and emergency room nurse for 10 years in Indianapolis.
While treating a patient with COVID-19, Elliott worked with the hospital's chaplain to arrange a FaceTime call with her daughter in another hospital, who also had COVID, her friend said. She stayed with the patient so she wouldn't die alone.
The Mazda MX-5 Miata 100th Anniversary Special edition giveaway is apart of Mazda's plan to reward 50 people who have "done heroic things for their community."
