INDIANAPOLIS -- Enjoy a beer and meet your new best friend at the same time this weekend in Indianapolis.

The Humane Society for Hamilton County is teaming up with Metazoa Brewing Company in downtown Indianapolis for an event called, "Tails & Ales".

On Saturday, August 11, from Noon to 3 p.m., five percent of all beer sales at Metazoa Brewing Company will go to support the Humane Society for Hamilton County.

There will also be games, music and a food truck.

The Manager of Community Outreach at the Humane Society, Missy Wright, says 70 percent of animals who come into the shelter need extensive medical care. She says the money raised at "Tails and Ales"  will go to saving the lives of any animal that comes into the Humane Society.

Last year, the Humane Society for Hamilton County took in 200 animals from kill shelters both in Indiana and across the country, according to Wright. She says the money raised this weekend will also go to caring for those animals and finding them forever homes.

Speaking of forever homes, the Humane Society will also bring adoptable dogs to Metazoa Brewing Company. You are encouraged to bring your pooch too, as Metazoa has special areas for dogs.

Anyone can go to "Tails & Ales", and you don't need a ticket.

Metazoa Brewing Company is located at 140 South College Avenue in Indianapolis.
