INDIANAPOLIS — Footballs, basketballs, soccer balls and baseballs.

The American Heart Association gave out more than 100 balls from various sports to young people living in the Hillside area of Indianapolis, Monday.

The balls were donated to the association by the people who attended last year's Heart Ball and Heart Walk.

The goal is to promote physical activity among youth.

Ersal Ozdemir, founder and owner of the Indy Eleven professional soccer team took part in the event at Trinity CME Church on Doctor Andrew J. Brown Avenue.

Ozdemir is chair of this year's Heart Ball and also conducted a ball drive at one of last season's games.

Trinity CME offers a number of fitness and health programs for youth and adults in the Hillside neighborhood.
