Heartland Film Festival gets underway

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis' dose of Hollywood began Thursday when the 28th annual Heartland Film Festival got underway.

The Red Carpet rolled out for Thursday night's premiere event at Newfields with the film "A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" kicking off the festival. It stars Tom Hanks as iconic children's TV host Fred Rogers.

The movie is among several playing at Heartland that are getting some serious Oscar buzz.

More than 200 films will screen at multiple venues. Organizers said there's something here for every type of movie fan.
