Indy man killed in US 40 crash in Hendricks Co.

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. -- An Indianapolis man was killed in a crash Wednesday morning on US 40 in Hendricks County, Indiana.

The crash happened near the intersection of US 40 and Miles Road, west of Plainfield. 

According to the Hendricks County Sheriff's Department,  a Jeep entered US 40 northbound from Miles Road when it was hit by a pickup truck, which was traveling east. 

The driver of the Jeep, 65-year-old James Andrews, of Indianapolis, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor. 

The eastbound lanes of US 40 were closed for about an hour and a half, but have re-opened.
