HENDRICKS CO. — IU Health, Hendricks Regional Health, and Hendricks Power Cooperative gave 50 multi-trauma kits to all Hendricks County Schools on Tuesday.
Each kit is equipped with tons of medical equipment in case a student, or many students, need immediate medical attention. The effort was all inspired by the shooting last May at Noblesville West Middle School.
"There are multiple reasons for why you would need this type of a trauma kit," Joanna Kennedy, Chair of Habit of Heart, said. "We live in Indiana — tornadoes hit. The bus situations that are happening."
The trauma kits being provided to schools fit every emergency that could occur.
Habit of the Heart, a fund of Hendricks County Community Foundation, is in every school in the county that fills the emergent needs of nurses and counselors.
Some of the items in the kits include bandages, gauze, cold packs, sting and bite relief pads, a stethoscope, blood pressure cuffs and much more.
